Vancouver’s Deconstruction & Asbestos Abatement Experts
Ready for a smarter teardown process?
At Progressive Environmental, we provide certified asbestos removal, testing, and hazardous materials abatement for residential, commercial, and institutional properties across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
Whether you’re managing a pre-demolition assessment, planning a home renovation, or addressing a known hazard, our team follows WorkSafeBC-compliant protocols to keep your project safe, legal, and on track.
With decades of experience in asbestos remediation, we partner with contractors, property managers, and homeowners to deliver clear, efficient service without cutting corners.
We also specialize in deconstruction and demolition, carefully dismantling buildings to recover wood, metal, and concrete for reuse. This not only reduces landfill waste but can also make homeowners eligible for valuable tax rebates and municipal incentives. Our team provides the documentation needed to maximize these benefits, turning your demolition project into a cost-saving, environmentally responsible choice.
Progressive Environmental started in North Vancouver and now serves the full Metro Vancouver region. We’re certified in hazardous material abatement, ethical demolition, and selective deconstruction that prioritizes recovery over waste.
We believe demolition doesn’t have to harm the planet or the people doing the work. Waste is often just a system that hasn’t been rethought.
That’s why we recover what can be reused, follow clear WorkSafeBC safety standards, and keep the process transparent from the first call to the final handoff.
No drama. No shortcuts. Just a system built to support clean building across the region.
Free, no-obligation estimates to help you make the best decision.
We handle all WorkSafeBC filings and compliance so your project stays safe, on track, and free from fines or delays.
We deliver honest, clear estimates—only what you need, nothing more, nothing less.
Before any demolition, our certified team safely identifies and removes asbestos, lead, and other hazards. We follow WorkSafeBC protocols and work with trusted labs to protect your site and your people. Once hazards are cleared, the process is transparent and streamlined for what comes next.
If demolition is what you need, we do it precisely. No shortcuts. No inflated scope. Just safe removal and responsible disposal. We handle all demolition logistics and work directly with homeowners and contractors to keep timelines, safety, and compliance on track.
We carefully deconstruct homes, salvaging materials for reuse and donation—diverting waste from landfills and helping homeowners qualify for tax rebates.

What’s the difference between demolition and deconstruction?
Demolition is fast and focused on clearing a site quickly. Deconstruction takes a more careful approach so we can salvage materials like wood, fixtures, and metals. We do both. You choose based on your priorities, timeline, and what you want to recover.
Can you still recover materials after asbestos is removed?
Yes. We take care of hazardous materials first. Once the site is safe, we can shift into recovery mode and deconstruct what’s left. Anything that can be reused or redirected gets handled with care.
Do you manage permits and compliance?
We do. We take care of the demolition permits and make sure all abatement work meets WorkSafeBC and local regulations. You won’t need to deal with paperwork or safety confusion. We handle it from start to finish.
How do you coordinate with other trades?
We prep the site properly, set a clear timeline, and make sure everyone stays in sync. Our job is to make sure the next crew shows up to a clean, safe, and ready site. No delays. No surprises.
Do I need asbestos testing before renovations?
Yes. If your building was constructed before 1990, asbestos testing is required before any demolition, renovation, or material removal begins. It is a legal step in British Columbia and helps protect your team, your trades, and anyone else on site. Testing also gives you the information needed for permits, safety planning, and budgeting.
What materials commonly contain asbestos?
Asbestos was used in many building materials between the 1950s and 1990. Common examples include:
If your building is older, it is safest to test before removing or disturbing any materials.
Can I use a test kit or should I hire a professional?
Test kits exist, but they are not recommended for renovations or permit-related work. Certified professionals know how to collect samples safely, avoid exposure risks, and identify which materials actually need testing. We also provide the documentation and lab analysis required for compliance. It is one of the most important early steps in a safe project, and doing it right protects everyone involved.
Where do you work?
We serve the full Metro Vancouver region including Vancouver, North and West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, and nearby areas. We also take select projects on Vancouver Island.
